The project, which is part of The Great Grid Upgrade, would involve the construction of 60km of new 400kV overhead line and two new substations.
The pylons currently being considered would be traditional lattice pylons, approximately 50m in height and 350m apart. In addition, National Grid has proposed to recontour 55km of existing overhead line. Recontouring involves both the replacement of pylon fittings and replacing the wires strung between each pylon. The proposed route for the project can be viewed at: .Ìý
