04 November 2020

Trade, standards, the UK’s future relationship with the EU, plus the impacts it will have on farmers, all topped the agenda at today’s NFU Live virtual event (4 November).

Featuring director of trade and business strategy Nick von Westenholz in the hotseat, with updates from the organisation’s director in Brussels Robin Manning and chief EU exit and international trade adviser Gail Soutar, the event drew an audience of more than 500 NFU members.

Panellists navigated an array of issues including recent announcement on the Trade and Agriculture Commission and what this means for future trade deals, the implications of the US election outcome and what will happen as soon as we reach 1 January.

As part of your NFU membership, this Autumn you can access a series of fortnightly virtual live events featuring NFU officeholders and experts who will navigate the issues that are affecting British farming, now and in the future.

Called NFU Live, these virtual sessions will see your NFU experts cover topics including future farm support, net-zero and water, as well as a live Q&A session with the NFU President.
