With the ongoing concerns from growers about the challenges the sector faces using BCPs (Border Control Points), the session looked at how grower business can become designated CPs (Control Points) and heard from NFU members Tangmere Nurseries, who are currently going through the process.
These points are inland inspection facilities where sanitary and phytosanitary checks of plants and plant products can take place, meaning those checks will not need to take place at the border.
This webinar was primarily focused for the protected cropping sector, although any grower business can apply for CP designation.
