Watch again: All about Control Point Designation

17 September 2024, 15:00 – 16:30

If you missed our webinar in conjunction with Defra, APHA and HMRC about the process for securing Control Point status on your protected edible site, you can watch it again.

With the ongoing concerns from growers about the challenges the sector faces using BCPs (Border Control Points), the session looked at how grower business can become designated CPs (Control Points) and heard from NFU members Tangmere Nurseries, who are currently going through the process.

These points are inland inspection facilities where sanitary and phytosanitary checks of plants and plant products can take place, meaning those checks will not need to take place at the border.

This webinar was primarily focused for the protected cropping sector, although any grower business can apply for CP designation.

Expression of interest to register for CP designation is free, and businesses should explore this as soon as possible. The process may take several months depending on what adaptations are required to your business infrastructure.
