The three-day countryside extravaganza took place in mid-June during glorious weather as the NFU took up residence in our marquee at the centre of the action; a hop and a skip from the main ring.
Tom attended the Three Counties Showground on the first day to address an audience keen to hear about the latest work in the upper echelons of political power the NFU undertakes on members鈥� behalf.
Much to discuss
Introduced by NFU Herefordshire County Chair Martin Williams, the president then fielded questions聽
from a packed crowd, including queries on stock movement plans for the all-England bluetongue control zone, labour costs for seasonal workers, GM grain in imported ethanol and SFI reform.
There was also praise from the audience for the local work taken on by the NFU in Herefordshire and Worcestershire during a very difficult time for farming.
The show is shared between three NFU counties, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Herefordshire, and it was Herefordshire鈥檚 turn to host this time.
'Real honour'
