Midlands poultry members are invited to join us at Sunrise Poultry on 9 October from 12.30pm until 3.30pm by kind permission of Phill Crawley.

Established in the late 1960鈥檚, Sunrise is a second-generation family farming business which has grown from hen rearing to now packing approximately four million eggs a week for their own hens and other producers across the country. These eggs are sold in various outlets, from major supermarket chains to local shops.聽

Agenda

  • 12:30pm - Arrival and lunch.
  • 1pm - 2pm - Overview of nutrition and laying hen welfare with Ralph Bishop, Premier Nutrition. As well as policy and political update for poultry from Aimee Mahony, NFU Chief Poultry Adviser.
  • 2pm - 3.30pm - Business overview and tour of Sunrise Eggs processing and packaging

As the event takes place on-farm and involves meeting other poultry producers please ensure you take sensible precautions in terms of the vehicle used to travel to the event and the clothing you wear.

Aimee Mahony

Chief adviser (poultry), National Farmers' Union

Aimee joined the NFU as poultry adviser in 2016 following four years working in the egg sector for Noble Foods.

In 2019 Aimee was named the EPIC Young Poultry Person of the Year and eight months later was appointed NFU chief poultry adviser.

Aimee leads the NFU poultry team on a number of policy issues covering both the poultry meat and egg sectors and manages the national poultry board.
