Alongside all the political talking points, the best of the region’s livestock and farming produce will be taking centre stage at shows once again this year, with the usual programme of entertainment featuring everything from monster trucks to marching bands.

We would be delighted to see members on the NFU stand any of the shows, where regional staff, group secretaries and representatives from NFU panel firms will be on hand to answer queries and offer advice.

We will also be at the many one day shows that take place across the region.

Devon County Show: 15 to 17 May, Westpoint, Exeter

At 2.30pm on Thursday 15 May, there’s an opportunity to hear from NFU President Tom Bradshaw, with a sparkling Devon cream tea served from 2pm. The sparkling wine is sponsored by panel firm Foot Anstey and the clotted cream kindly donated by Langage Farm.

Then on Friday 16 May NFU Countryside adviser Poppy Sherborne will be joining us for an environment round table at 2.30pm.

The session will cover environmental policy relating to funding, nature, biodiversity, trees, species, protected landscapes and sites.

If you are interested in these areas or have any feedback, please come along to discuss them further with Poppy.
