Lidl GB has reinforced its commitment to British beef, confirming it will continue to source 100% fresh, everyday own-brand British beef across all its stores 鈥 with no plans to import or switch sourcing to beef suppliers outside of Great Britain.
The retailer's promise follows recent concern over wider supermarket sourcing commitments and reports of beef from Australia, Uruguay and New Zealand hitting supermarket shelves.

Earlier this year, Lidl launched its Sustainable Beef Group aimed at helping farmers move to more sustainable practices and protect their livelihoods for the long-term. It also confirmed plans to invest 1.5 billion in British beef production over five years.听
