Seminar on Inheritance Tax Changes – understanding the latest updates to APR and BPR.

Wynniatt-Husey in conjunction with the NFU Mutual and Nigel Davis Solicitors will form a panel. They will explain the key updates to Agricultural Property Relief (APR) and Business Property Relief (BPR) and how it may impact you. We will also explore the practical issues these changes could present and how best to prepare.

Rural Hub Summer Farm Walk

The Rural Hub annual summer farm walk is being kindly hosted by David Reay and family. ÌýÌý

Join us on a tour of this arable and beef farm to see how David is optimising the productive areas of the farm whilst using field corners and individual plots for wildlife. Ìý

The farm is in SFI and has established low input grassland under AHL3 and herbal leys and flower rich margins under IPM2. ÌýÌý

The cattle graze the river meadows. Ìý

Following our return to the farmyard there will be burgers from Napton Buffalo (vegetarian options available) plus drinks, all sponsored by our business supporter Syngenta.

Are there differences in colostrum quality between UK dairy breeds

Megan Edwards is in her final year as a master’s student at Aberystwyth University.

As part of her end of year dissertation, she is investigating the following title: Are there differences in colostrum quality between UK dairy breeds?

In order to obtain research for this title, she is naturally trying to collect data representing a wide range of dairy breeds from across the UK.

Warwickshire Police - Operation Recall

This is a national initiative with the Police, National Rural Crime Unit, NFU, National Sheep Association, CLA, Nature Watch Foundation and RSPCA, who have come together to raise awareness with regards to livestock worrying.

The aim is to drastically reduce the number of incidents where animals suffer, whether that’s injured livestock, wildlife or dogs killed as a consequence.

Farmer perceptions of police resourcing and training in response to farm crime.

Andrew Corner is a PhD student at Harper Adams University studying the relationship between police and farmers within England and Wales.

As part of the study, he is asking farmers to take part in an online survey which you can view . If you would like to take part, please do so before 1 July 2025.
