On the first day of the show, NFU President Tom Bradshaw spoke to a packed audience at a reception which featured a sparkling Devon cream tea.
Tom emphasised the importance of looking to the positives in farming, despite the many current challenges.
He urged members to continue to write to their MPs, particularly Labour ones, about the impact of inheritance tax changes, and talked about the successful legal challenge following the sudden closure of SFI, and the NFU's work to keep lobbying the government.
鈥淭he SFI challenge was a big win, but it was not big enough,鈥 he said. 鈥淲e know there are many members still badly affected, and we continue to press for more information about what is happening.鈥
The sparkling wine at the reception was sponsored by panel firm Foot Anstey, with the clotted cream kindly donated by Langage Farm.
Friday saw BBC Radio Devon broadcast its mid-morning programme live from the NFU stand, looking in particular at issues of rural crime. Devon deputy chair Cathy Case took part, along with members of the Devon & Cornwall Police Rural Crime Team.
