Attendees were split into four groups and visited four stations around Ali鈥檚 farm in Malpas.
Following recent investment in the farm, through various businesses, Ali was keen to give those businesses the opportunity to show members what they do, the work they鈥檝e done on the farm and why.
Stands included DA Cotton and Son who have just changed the farm鈥檚 milking robots, the farm鈥檚 agronomist Spunhill and Nantwich Farm Vets. NFU North Regional Policy Manager Adam Briggs also attended to give members an update on the work that the NFU is doing for them.
New technologies to see on farm
Ali Dobson, Cheshire County Chair, said: 鈥淥n behalf of Cheshire NFU members I was keen to hold a social evening and given we鈥檝e traded with the same companies for 25 years, I was keen to get those businesses involved too. There are a few new technologies to see on farm, so we wanted to show local members how they could benefit them if they chose to spend money in a similar way. It also gave chance for members to hear an update on the NFU鈥檚 work.
鈥淭hank you to everyone who came along, it was good to see so many people there. Thank you also to Mick Hughes at Spread-A-Bale and Stamford Agricultural Services for sponsoring the event.鈥
Helen Wainwright, Cheshire County Adviser, said: 鈥淭hank you to everyone who came to our Chair鈥檚 summer farm walk. A big thank you to our Chair Ali Dobson and family for hosting. Thank you also to our sponsors and speakers, Marnie and Tim Dobson for the BBQ and to the Tattenhall NFU team.鈥
