I hope everyone has had a successful start to harvest, despite the challenging weather we have had, I know it was a record for many to have their combines rolling in June!
While you are busy, please do remember to take 5, stay alive. Take five minutes to pause, to think, and to take care of your physical and mental wellbeing. Whether it’s checking machinery, preparing for livestock handling, or simply taking a breather during a hectic day, those five minutes can help you identify risks, prevent accidents, and protect your mental health.
You can make your health and safety pledge , just like the NFU council did. Commit to one thing you will do differently to make your farm business safer for yourself, your family, and your employees.
Although harvest is a busy time on the farm, your NFU county team are also busy preparing the County Plan for the 2025/26 membership year. This involves us planning future membership engagement opportunities inline with the East Regional Board priorities. If you have any ideas on how you would like your NFU to deliver locally, please do get in touch.
Have a safe rest of your harvest.
