HOLLAND (LINCS) & NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY ADVISER

This month we have been looking at tackling fly-tipping in South Lincolnshire and protecting our countryside

Fly-tipping is a growing problem in South Lincolnshire, blighting rural landscapes and causing significant challenges for farmers.

Illegal waste dumping scars the countryside and poses risks to livestock, wildlife, and watercourses. Farmers are often left with the costly and time-consuming task of dealing with waste on private land, despite being the victims.

Commonly dumped items range from household wate to hazardous materials, creating serious health and safety concerns.

In South Lincolnshire, preventative measures include increased CCTV in rural hotspots, stronger partnership working between councils, police, and targeted community awareness campaigns to deter offenders and protect our countryside.

While it's been a busy month for harvest, it has been incredibly important to connect and maintain relationships with stakeholders and professional partners to ensure aligned efforts when advocating on behalf of members.
