It’s been a summer that many of us will want to forget as we have seen very mixed harvest results and lack of forage presenting urgent issues for some already.
Alongside supporting members on a range of issues, including the above, August is a time for your NFU County Team to plan our next tranche of activity.
County events
Plans are well underway for our Newbury Show stand on the 20 and 21 September with support from Fendt UK as well as many of our local dealers in pulling together our stand, with the theme of 'do you know where your food comes from.'
If you’re at Newbury that weekend, do pop along to see us and the local NFU Mutual teams on Avenue C and The Village Green, right next to the bar and Pimm’s tent!
Planning for our autumn NFU Live – Local webinars is well underway with Acorus and Savills lined up for the first two events. Watch out for your branch newsletters in the coming weeks for more details.
Branch AGMs
As we move into autumn, we look forward to our local branch AGMs, please do put the dates in the diary and try to attend, locally we are looking to doing more branch activity throughout the year, so do let your group secretary know what you want to see coming up for the coming year.
Finally, as the days get shorter…
It’s as important as ever to ensure your farm is secure, especially as the nights get longer. Make sure that guidance domes are secured and keys are not left in vehicles, if you have gateways you would normally block off then please do.
If you’ve been thinking of installing CCTV, then now is as good as time as any to check out the member benefits section, with a 20% discount on Reo-link cameras.
As ever, if a crime is in progress, please do call it in on 999. If you have issues with a response then please drop me an email, we are happy to take these up with Thames Valley Police.
If you don’t report it, they can’t act.
