NFU chief environment adviser
Diane Mitchell is the Chief Environment Adviser at the NFU. In this role she has an overview across the environment team and the diverse range of agri-environmental policies affecting farmers, including agri-environment, air quality, biodiversity, protected landscapes, soils, trees, waste management and water.

Net zero project delivery manager
Kate鈥檚 role at the NFU is to translate the net zero by 2040 ambition into action on the ground. The approach has three strands: policy development, liaising with external stakeholders and supporting membership to tell our story of climate-friendly farming.

NFU Adviser (Farm Safety & Transport)
Stuart Head is the NFU's farm safety and transport adviser.
Stuart joined the NFU back in 2024 as an assistant adviser in the environment team, where he focused on enhancements to both environmental sustainability and business performance and handled farmed environment communications before taking on his new role in 2025.
